HOW IT WORKS
Pupper Hutt Hydrotherapy operates via vet referral only. That doesn’t mean to say that your furry mate has to have a diagnosable illness or disease to come see us. It just means that your usual vet needs to indicate to us that he or she is happy that your dog is in a suitable condition health-wise, and is happy for it to undertake hydrotherapy.
We will also engage with your vet for medical history relevant to your dog’s presentation. This means that when you first visit us, we already have an understanding of your pet’s history and any challenges or limitations they might present with.
It’s important to note that we require your dog to be fully vaccinated before commencing hydrotherapy with us and if your dog is female, to not be in heat.
We also ask that you complete a few bits of paper for us in advance, outlining things such as your dog’s current exercise levels, living conditions and diet. This all helps to form the bigger picture for us, to ascertain the most appropriate treatment and recommendations.
Once your dog has clearance and we have all your info, we will schedule an initial consultation at our clinic.
We operate an underwater treadmill which is heated to approx 31 degrees.
How much does it cost?
We have an initial consultation fee of $120. For initial consultations, allow approx 1h 15mins.
Subsequent visits are $100 per session. Allow approx 45-60mins for follow up appointments.
10-trip concessions also available. Please enquire when beginning hydrotherapy.
PRE-visit info
Please ensure you have read the following information before bringing your pet for their first appointment:
- Wear suitable clothing and footwear. The clinic is a wet environment and as such, is a slip hazard.
- Please make sure your dog is not fed for at least 2 hours prior to their appointment and do not feed them for at least 1 hour after treatment.
- Ensure your dog has been toileted prior to the treatment and let us know if this has not occurred. This is to minimise contamination of the water. If a dog poops in the water, the clinic will need to close for no less than 6hrs so that the water and treadmill can be sanitised appropriately.
- If your dog’s condition changes or a new medication is introduced, please inform us or speak to your vet about how this could affect their hydrotherapy exercise.
- Ensure that your dog is kept under control (on a lead) at all times before and after the session.
- Please ensure you are on time for your session and let us know if you are running late. Your session running late could impact others after you.
- There is one car park available directly out front of the clinic, otherwise more on-street parking can be found at the beginning of the building.
